Full Moon Retreat

Time for some peace and reflection under the magic of a full moon. We’ll be at a remote location, where we will immerse ourselves in a public, 2-mile full moon hike  (joining Roads, Rivers and Trails and Valley View staff and the public), self-reflection, campfire and good times at this shelter along the Buckeye Trail in the Valley View campus. The camping area has a firepit, picnic tables and room for 3-4 tents, as well as space in a shelter.

This is a ladies only overnight (the hike is open to the public) suited best for those comfortable sleeping outdoors with minimal access to resources, preferably those that have already attended a backpacking informational session or had an outdoor experience.  A few snacks, camping meals and some water will be available, but please be prepared to pack in your own food and any other drinks of choice! Leave No Trace principles will be observed. Please note: we will not be backpacking into the site, we will be parking and setting up camp an approximate 2-minute walk from our cars. The overnight will be a perfect opportunity to test any camping stoves, tents or restroom practices that you might engage in during a backpacking trip.

We will stay on schedule and will not skip any activity except in the case of severe weather.  The event will not be canceled except in the event of severe weather. As this is a donation-based event, no refunds are available. A donation to Valley View is part of the fee for this event. 

 A list of suggested supplies and meetup directions will be sent to the participants.
